On this program This Is America & The World and Dennis Wholey visit the Greek capital of Athens to examine life in Greece today. Dennis speaks with Greece's Minister of Economy and Development, Dimitri Papadimitriou who believes that Greece's economy is headed in the right direction and renowned businessman A.C. Laskaridis about the importance of the country's famous shipping industry. Dennis also talks with Sofia Kouvelaki of The HOME Project about the continuing international refugee crisis and with a 17 year refugee about her dangerous journey from Afghanistan to Greece. Dennis also travels to the campus of the American College of Greece, which welcomes American students to Athens with the assistance of the National Hellenic Society. Filling out this packed episode, Dennis is welcomed aboard the USS Mesa Verde and goes on site at the Acropolis.

At the Concordia Europe Summit, Co-founder's Nick Logothetis and Matthew Swift discuss the importance of the Concordia Summit while Chairman and CEO of Libra Group, George Logothetis offers his passionate view of Greece's past, present and future. Dennis also ventures to the Island of Crete to speak with Commanders from Greece and the United States stationed in the strategically placed Souda Bay Naval Base.

Revitalization and Recovery in Miyagi, Japan

While on location in the Japanese prefecture of Miyagi, This Is America & The World and Dennis Wholey speak to different guests to understand how the area is recovering after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in 2011. To learn about the prefecture as a whole, Dennis Wholey speaks with Governor Yoshihiro Murai and finds that in many striking ways the prefecture is recovering at a bold and rapid rate. Miyagi bears the scares of the 2011 disaster but refuses to be defined by it. Segments explore various sites that are now symbols of revitalization in the area such as the Ishinomaki Fish Market, which was destroyed in 2011 but has since been rebuilt as the largest fish market in the world; the Sendai Airport which has developed into an airport unlike any other despite being horrifically impacted in the tsunami and even a small company named Yaguchi Denshi which is devoted to developing an amazing device to assist children with "weak eyes", which was conceived in the immediate aftermath of the 2011 event. Each interview communicates the stunning resilience of the Japanese people in the face of adversity.

Japan - Recovery In Fukushima

On this edition of This Is America & The World, Dennis Wholey travels to Japan's Fukushima prefecture to see what life is like beyond the headlines. Dennis visits with the Governor of Fukushima, Masao Uchibori to discuss the revitalization efforts in place since the triple disaster of March 11, 2011 when the area was impacted by an earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident. In addition, Dennis visits various sites throughout Fukushima to look at the ways in which life has changed over the past six years. Speaking with various guests, Dennis finds that Fukushima itself has become a location of entrepreneurship and development with the goals of rebuilding the area to benefit Fukushima and the world. The segments cover the development of robotics and other cutting edge technologies as well as the country's edible tourism in the form of a unique strawberry farm and a Samurai related festival which continues today as it has for 1000 years.

Speaking with Japan's Minister for Reconstruction, Masahiro Imamura, Dennis gains insight into Japan's recovery and revitalization efforts following the March 11, 2011 triple disaster of earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident. Additionally, Dennis visits with an Irish-born scholar living Tokyo named Peter MacMillan to learn about the various aspects of the Japanese culture and spirit that have enabled the country to rise above massive challenges throughout history and to always come back stronger than before.
